A special virtual event is being staged later this month to help businesses across the Marches who export alcohol to overseas markets.
The event – on January 20 from 9am to 10.30am – is the second to bring together food and drink companies from Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire to help them share specialist knowledge with each other.
Industry specialists will be on hand to address issues and answer questions surrounding Customs and Excise and exporting requirements for the drinks sector under the UK’s new trading arrangements.
The event is hosted in conjunction with the Department for International Trade (DIT) to support businesses and help boost their international presence and overseas sales.
Guests will meet the new Food and Drink Cluster Adviser David Caine who will provide an update on the new Alcohol cluster and further food and drink events planned. David has been appointed to cover the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership region, working with Shropshire Chamber of Commerce and Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber along with the Department for International Trade (DIT).
Speakers include:
- Drinks specialist Adrian Walsh from DIT HQ will speak about the drinks sector, current trends and potential export markets.
- James Scott from DIT Germany speaking on the German alcohol sector and the advantages of exporting alcoholic products to Germany.
- Export Champion Colin Cordy from Celtic Marches will be discussing their route to export markets and addressing how they overcame export related issues.
- Neil Markendale from Berwyn Consultants will address any issues and answer questions companies may have surrounding Customs and Excise and exporting requirements for the Drink sector from 2021 onwards.
There will be an opportunity to submit your questions ahead of the event to ensure these topics are covered during the session.
