Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition

Grant competition to assist registered training providers in England to support the expansion and upskilling of the workforce in the retrofit sector.

edit

The Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition (HDSTC) is a multi-million pound scheme to provide grant awards to a range of training organisations in England, who will provide appropriate training and support to installers operating across the different Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) schemes.

The installer training must lead to a recognised qualification within insulation,* heat pumps, and retrofit accreditation. Supporting the supply chain in this way will also help build capacity and resilience for home energy retrofit delivery more widely, as well as scaling up delivery further as Government works towards meeting its 2030 and 2050 decarbonisation targets.

*some enabling CPD training is permitted within insulation.

Who should apply for the competition?

The competition is open to training providers based in England. We are expecting the following types of organisations to apply:

  • Further Education colleges
  • Training Academies
  • Manufacturer Training Centres
  • Consortia that can clearly demonstrate experience of delivering vocational courses in construction, energy efficiency, installation of low carbon technologies, or energy assessment.

Interested in applying for funding?

We’re asking providers that would like to take part in the competition to complete an Expression of Interest form and send it back to us to hear more about the competition.
