edit

The Early Advantage fund was launched In December 2009 to provide investment, alongside business angels and other private sector investors, in early stage and small businesses within the West Midlands.

The fund was created to target high growth start-up and early stage businesses with or without revenues.

The fund made initial investments of up to £125,000 if matched by private money and could invest up to a further £275,000 in subsequent rounds.

The £8m fund was created through investment from the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, including a grant from the European Regional Development Fund.

Midven has secured an additional £2m grant from ERDF increasing the fund to £10m.
