Businesses looking to tap into EU funding and other grant schemes are being invited to a special event in Hereford next month.
The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership region has been awarded around £95m of European Union funding for projects running between now and 2020. And some of these projects, include grants of up to £167,000 for eligible businesses.
The session at Skylon Court, Rotherwas, on April 5, will include the opportunity for one-to-one discussions with experts from a variety of funding and business support schemes.
It has been organised by the Marches Growth Hub Herefordshire in conjunction with Herefordshire Council and the University of Wolverhampton.
Paul Hinkins, Chair of the Marches Growth Hub, said: "Businesses in the Marches have secured more than £600,000 in the last year alone through EU funded support schemes.
"There are 11 live projects, essentially funding streams for businesses, with another eight in the pipeline so we want businesses to learn more about how they can access this money to help them build their businesses.
"Most recently launched is the Marches Business Investment Grant, a £2.5m pot available to help businesses extend or renovate their commercial premises. They need to create jobs to get hold of the funding and there are conditions governing what types of business can apply.
"Last year saw the introduction of the Business Growth Programme (BGP) – this is a £33m funding scheme launched for small and medium-sized businesses with grants of between £20,000 and £167,000 available. There are also grants of more than £35,000 for eligible food and drink and tourism sector business."
The event will run from 9.30am to midday at the Business Solutions Centre followed by a complimentary networking lunch.
It will begin with an introduction from Frank Myers, Chair of the Herefordshire Business Board followed by an overview of the Marches Growth Hub and an EU funding update from the Marches ERDF Technical Assistance Team.
There will then be 90 minutes to tour a marketplace of different grant schemes ranging from support for business growth, energy efficiency, skills support and much more.
