A free new business support programme aimed at Shropshire’s over-50s is preparing to welcome its first cohort.
Silverpreneurs aims to help the over 50s to either launch a new business or grow an existing enterprise by equipping them with the necessary confidence, knowledge and skills.
The six-week course is fully-funded by the Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which is part of the Levelling Up agenda.
The programme’s team of expert trainers will share their business knowledge, experience and networks during the sessions, which will cover strategy and planning, sales and marketing, access to finance and funding, personal health and wellbeing, and how to make the most of networking opportunities.
The course begins on Thursday January 18 at the University Centre, Shrewsbury. Anyone interested can also register for a future course if this one isn’t convenient.
The course is ideal for anyone running or thinking of starting a new business, whether because of redundancy or just a desire to change path. There will be in-person one-to-one and group sessions.
To be eligible, participants must be aged 50+ and have a business or home postcode in the Shropshire Council area (excluding Telford and Wrekin).
