Manufacturers need to switch from CE marking by 2022

Published: July 5th, 2021

Manufacturers in the Marches are being urged to be aware of changes around the marking of goods for the GB market.

Before January 1 2021, manufacturers could use CE marking or other appropriate marking.

But now they are required to use a UKCA conformity marking if placing certain goods on the GB market.

Goods that are lawfully CE marked will be accepted in the UK until 1 January 2022 for certain goods.

Businesses must be ready to use the UKCA marking from 1 January 2022 at the latest, although you should look to use the UKCA marking as soon as possible.
