Grants of up to £3,000 are on offer to small businesses in Telford & Wrekin which need help with capital investment.
The Small Grants Fund is aimed at micro and small businesses based in the borough and offers grants of between £1,000 and £3,000, with 40 per cent match funding required from applicants. The fund aims to support:
- business growth
- expansion into new markets
- adoption of new technologies or processes
- improved productivity
- job creation/safeguarding
- businesses to introduce new products or services
The grants are open to B2B or B2C businesses, but priority will be given to those in manufacturing, engineering, digital, professional or other office services, logistics and distribution, wholesale, construction and environmental.
Expressions of interest are now invited until December 6, after which businesses can discuss their application with a member of the Marches Growth Hub Telford & Wrekin team if they wish. If the expression of interest is approved, businesses will then have until December 8 to submit a full application, with all supporting documents.
Interest in grants is expected to be high so businesses should make sure their application is completed correctly to improve their chances of receiving support.
The result of the application process will be notified on December 18. A further round of grant applications is expected to open in spring 2024.
