Awards to celebrate exporting success

Awards to celebrate exporting success

Published: February 9th, 2023

Are you a small or medium UK business with a global success story to tell? Entries are now open for the Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards, which aim to recognise and celebrate the international success of British businesses.

The awards have been launched by the Department for International Trade to celebrate the best of Britain on a global scale.

The awards programme will help to increase the focus on exporting, as well as encouraging businesses to export by showing that everyday businesses of all sizes and industries are succeeding internationally.

Entry is free and there are seven different categories – education, creative industries, food, drink and agriculture, financial and professional services, consumer goods, digital and manufacturing.

Businesses can enter just one category, so choose the one which best fits your area of success. Entries close on February 23 and the winners will be announced in mid-April.

Winners will receive a certificate, digital badge accreditation, promotional activity organised by DIT, and a high-profile visit from a DIT representative.

Each category will be judged by a panel including a DIT sector lead, a DIT communications lead, and an independent panellist, Institute of Export director general Marco Forgione. The awards are open to SMEs, defined as 250 employees or fewer, and export stories submitted should relate to the calendar year January 2022 to December 2022 where possible.
