WEBINAR Good mental health is good for business how the Armed Forces experience can help (Delivered by Shropshire Chamber)

Currently a total of 5,707 Armed Forces Covenants have been signed across the United Kingdom, 10% of those reside within the West Midlands, and Shropshire account for just under 16% of the WM total, 91 in number. We are keen to grow the WM share further however, and look to the support of Chambers of Commerce to assist in that ambition. Whilst the rate of growth in AFC’s is steady in the County, fuelled mainly by the excellent gold standard advocacy that is practiced by Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Borough Council and supported by the Shropshire AFC Partnership and their respective veteran’s hubs, there is potential to rapidly increase the rate of growth. Shropshire Chamber are signatories to the AFC themselves, and are also engaged with the Chamber Military Network, they have the potential to themselves achieve notable recognition under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. Currently Bronze award holders, they are in a position to advocate to business the value of the AFC and the opportunities attached to partnering with defence, and in doing so establish themselves as credible potential Gold Award holders, which would also underpin their vision, their mission and their values.
