Workshops to help budding Shropshire entrepreneurs

Two day-long workshops in Shrewsbury will help would-be entrepreneurs take the first steps to running their own business.

The free Build Your Business: Key Steps to Start-up Success events are hosted by Shropshire Growth Hub and will take place at the Shropshire Food Enterprise Centre on October 10 and November 18. Both events start at 9.15am and run until 4.15pm.

The full-day workshop can help you take the first steps and will guide you through the ‘essentials’ of starting your own business.

The workshops are free but places should be registered via the respective Eventbrite pages for the October and November dates.

The course will be led by business experts Matthew Woodhead and Louise Welsby, and are open to any business based in the Shropshire Council area.

The workshops are aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs, individuals who want turn a hobby into a business, or those seeking a career change. The event will equip you with the essential skills, strategies, and financial insights to help you launch and grow a successful business.

  • Choosing the right business structure
  • Registering with HMRC and submitting self-assessments
  • Creating a business model – Mission and Vision
  • Cashflow and how it works
  • Business start-up funding
  • Identifying and finding customers

  • Networking with like-minded people
