Local firms will be thrust into the spotlight when the Small Business Saturday roadshow rolls into Hereford.
Small Business Saturday is an annual event that celebrates the success of local businesses and promotes the benefits of shopping local.
To promote the day, which this year takes place on December 3, the roadshow will visit 24 towns and cities around the UK. It will roll into Hereford city centre on November 16 and can be found next to the Black and White House Museum and bull statue.
The roadshow will be in the city from 10am until 2pm and will be supported by the Marches Growth Hub, who will be on hand to offer advice to small businesses from around the area.
The roadshow will visit inspiring local small businesses, offer one-to-one mentoring for small business owners and host workshops covering everything from marketing to time management.
As well as the roadshow, Small Business Saturday each year highlights 100 individual small companies, one a day leading up to the day itself. On the day the roadshow is in Hereford, the highlighted business will be Shrewsbury-based PEGS Support, which supports those experiencing child-to-parent abuse.
Now in its 10th year in the UK and backed by American Express, Small Business Saturday offers all small businesses the chance to step into the spotlight. It began in America as an antidote to Black Friday, the consumer frenzy that follows Thanksgiving.
