Start up Spring is a fresh initiative to boost regional business growth.

Delivered by Impetus Business Loans, it will help individuals in the West Midlands either start up a new business – or start an additional business.

Impetus is a Government-supported, charity-owned scheme that’s part of the UK Responsible Finance Sector.

Its overall aim is to boost the regional economy.

There are two key ways that Start up Spring will help entrepreneurs:

1: By providing free business start up advice and guidance

2: By providing affordable business loans.

Impetus Fund Manager, Steve Williams explains, "From £500 to £25k is available per organisation to borrow and there is no charge for the supportive business mentoring.

"It’s all about helping new businesses thrive, and recent loan recipients have included a wedding shop, a coffee shop, a skate-park and a fitness training business.

"We can therefore, help anyone as along as they have a strong business idea and this includes businesses that are up to two years old."

Impetus covers Shropshire, Telford &Wrekin, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

In 2015/16 over £2m in business loans was provided.
