A special, free day to make sure rural businesses across Herefordshire get the best possible advice will be held next week.

The Herefordshire Rural Business Advice Day is being staged on November 20 at the Three Counties Hotel in Belmont Road, Hereford.

The event – which gets under way at noon and will run until 6pm – features a host of organisations representing many aspects of farming and rural business, expert presentations and one-to-one advice clinics.

Those attending will be able to get advice on a wide range of issues including good soil management, specialist software for farm businesses, Countryside Stewardship schemes, RDPE Grants, diversification, renewable energy, planning issues and rural crime prevention measures.

Presentations will feature Moule & Co and Harrison Clark Rickerbys Solictors talking about how to objectively assess your current business in light of the changing political, statutory and economic landscape.

Berrys and the CLA will highlight some of the pitfalls to avoid when letting out land, farm buildings and cottages, whilst the NFU’s Chief EU Exit and International Trade Adviser will give tips on navigating Brexit.

Free one-to-one advice clinics will cover issues such as getting to grips with Xero Cloud accounting package, QuickBooks and preserving your wealth for future generations. These can be booked in advance through Frances at [email protected]

The day will also include free drop-in clinics on issues such as pesticide practices, completing your NVZ records and farming rules for water.
