Businesses in the Marches can now register for specialist sector advice and events following the end of the transition period thanks to a joint initiative from growth hubs across the West Midlands.

The Marches Growth Hub has joined forces with other growth hubs to encourage businesses to access free advice to Check, Change and Go following the UK’s exit from the EU.

A new microsite at www.wmgrowthhubs-eusupport.co.uk includes information guiding businesses through the maze of changes and events to maximise the new opportunities including Going for Global Growth on Tuesday, January 26. The event is open to businesses in the Marches LEP region and brings together a panel of international trade experts to offer advice and answer questions.

The online event is being run from 2pm-3.30pm by The Export Academy from the Department for International Trade in collaboration with the West Midlands Growth Hubs and the West Midlands Chambers of Commerce.

There is also the opportunity to complete an EU Transition Support Questionnaire to request specialist support needed by businesses in the Coventry and Warwickshire, Greater Birmingham and Solihull, the Black Country, Worcestershire Business Central, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire and Marches region.

Yasmin Sulaman, Business Support Lead with the Marches Growth Hub, said: “Businesses need help with resources which are relevant to them and staff at the Growth Hubs throughout the West Midlands will be able to point them in the right direction to access the help they need.

“The Growth Hubs have appointed sector specialists in a wide range of industries from automotive to transport and logistics, to employment law and importing and exporting.

“We are already encouraging businesses to use both the information and guidance available on marchesgrowthhub.co.uk and to take advantage of support available from our local hubs in Hereford, Shrewsbury and Telford which is being delivered online currently.

“This new initiative extends that support, allowing us to offer our businesses specialist advice and access to events which will help them trade post Brexit and take advantage of new opportunities that brings.

“We’d encourage our businesses to take a look at the new microsite which can help businesses throughout the region understand the key areas of change and the challenges arising from the UK’s new trading status and to register for the event Export Academy event on January 26.”
