An event aimed at helping businesses to bolster their knowledge of digital technologies and communications has been hailed a success.
Around 45 sole traders and small business owners attended the Love Digital event at The Three Counties Hotel on Valentine’s Day to learn how to maximise the use of all things digital within their companies.
It was hosted by the Marches Growth Hub Herefordshire, the one stop-shop for business support, in partnership with Connect 2 Grow, a scheme funded by the European Regional Development Fund and delivered by the University of Wolverhampton via the Business Solutions Centre in Hereford.
Those attending received support and advice from a range of experts in the digital field.
Guest speaker Lucas Karemo, from Google’s Digital Garage, shared his knowledge on digital marketing with businesses whilst local firms Shooting Reels and Sly Spirit hosted practical workshops demonstrating the use of smartphone film-making and Virtual and Augmented Reality.
Lyndsay Francis, Economic Development Officer for the Marches Growth Hub, said: "This event has proven to be a real hit for businesses wishing to get a better understanding of how they can use digital technologies, data and communications more effectively within their organisation.
"There are so many different technologies and strategies which can be leveraged in one way or another to help streamline productivity, boost efficiency and expand markets but it’s sometimes difficult to know where to start.
"This event was a great opportunity for business owners to discover more about what they could utilise in their organisation in manageable, miniature bite sized chunks."
As well as workshops and expert speakers, guests attending the event also had the opportunity to visit the business expo where experts provided advice and support on a range of subjects including drone technology, GDPR, cyber security, e-commerce technology, digital programmes and software, SEO and digital marketing. There was also an opportunity for networking.
