A new guide to help businesses protect their intellectual property rights has been drawn up by the Intellectual Property Office.
The guide – Business Lifecycle Framework – Intellectual Property at every stage – details how IP links to the various stages of a business’ lifecycle.
It aims to give entrepreneurs, creators, and businesses the right information, guidance and support at the right time and stage of their journey. The Business Lifecycle Framework supports businesses to identify, manage and protect their IP to maximize the value of their IP assets
The framework breaks the business lifecycle down into stages – pre-start up, start-up, scale-up and exit – using questions to help businesses identify what they need to know and how to find guidance and support.
It helps businesses make informed decisions about strategic use of their IP assets so they can be confident when investing time, energy, and money in innovation.
