Businesses looking to establish or grow their presence on Telford & Wrekin high streets can now access a fresh wave of grant funding.
Telford & Wrekin Council has launched its Pride in Our High Street programme for 2025/26, with £1.2 million available to help businesses start up, expand and thrive in high street locations.
The programme can offer:
- Start-up grants of up to £10,000 for businesses moving into empty retail units
- Start-up trial grants of up to £2,500 for businesses testing the high street with pop-up shops or market stalls
- Facade grants to improve shop frontages
- Eco grants for energy-saving improvements
- Digital grants to enhance business efficiency in the digital marketplace
Since 2018, the programme has supported 372 businesses and helped 66 new businesses establish themselves on high streets across the borough.
Councillor Ollie Vickers, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for the economy, said: “We’re continuing to invest in the Pride in Our High Street programme and support businesses on our high streets which are so important to us. We are making great progress tackling empty shop units and breathing new life into our high streets through the programme.”
