Marches Growth Hub brings business advice to Oswestry

Marches Growth Hub brings business advice to Oswestry

Published: October 17th, 2016

Advice on apprenticeships, export and digital marketing are all on offer at a special business support event in Oswestry next month.

The Marches Growth Hub, which provides a single point of access to business support information in the region, is hosting the day long session on November 10 to coincide with the UKTI Exporting Week.

It will be held at Oswestry Cricket Club and feature seven guest speakers, following on from the Oswestry Chamber breakfast event.

Paul Hinkins, Chairman of the Marches Growth Hub, said: "This will be the third outreach event the team from Marches Growth Hub Shropshire has organised following seminars and workshops in Bridgnorth and Bishops Castle which proved to be very useful to businesses.

"Although all the advice and support we can offer is available online via the Marches Growth Hub, our helpline, or at one of the physical hubs, we hope that the outreach day will highlight to businesses in the Oswestry area what help is available to them and allow them to tap into the wealth of support that is out there.

"The sessions will tackle a variety of issues that are relevant to businesses and equip them with the knowledge they need to help their organisations grow and thrive.

"And the special tie-in with the Department of International Trade will be invaluable to people wanting to explore and develop new markets overseas."

Guest speaker Norman Rikunenko will focus on how trade benefits the UK economy and why businesses should be exporting. He will also be examining the perceived barriers to exporting and how DiT can help.

As part of the Marches Growth Hub’s #GetDigital campaign, Hatcher Solicitors will be speaking on the legal aspects of social media which employers should be considering and West Mercia Police will be addressing business concerns about the dangers of digital footprints.

The Marches Growth Hub has a comprehensive business support website at www.marchesgrowthhub.co.uk and a dedicated enquiry line on 0345 6000 727.

Face to face advice, meeting space and business support is available at hubs in Shrewsbury and Telford.
