A key regional meeting to bring businesses up to speed with the country’s Brexit preparations is being staged in Birmingham later this month.

The free Brexit Business Readiness Event will allow businesses from across the region to quiz government advisers about the actions they need to take to prepare for the October 31 deadline.

It is being staged at Edgbaston Stadium in Edgbaston on September 27, with sessions in both the morning and afternoon.

The event will combine a keynote address, interactive support, advice stands and in-depth sessions led by subject matter experts, and provide specific business-focused advice and help.

Specific areas likely to be covered include:

  • Importing from the EU
  • Exporting to the EU
  • Providing services or doing business in the EU
  • Employing EU citizens Transferring personal data
  • Support available in your local area

The keynote address will outline what’s changing for business, give clear advice on the practical steps and actions that business can take, and detail some of the resources and support available.

Experts will also lead seminars looking at a range of areas, including topics such as international trade, data protection, intellectual property and the impact on the food and drink sector.

The morning session starts at 9am and runs for two and a half hours, with the afternoon session getting under way at 1pm.
