Inspiring a new generation of engineers

Inspiring a new generation of engineers

Published: October 22nd, 2018

As the birthplace of the industrial revolution, The Marches is a region renowned for its engineering expertise.

And now there’s an opportunity for businesses in Shropshire and Herefordshire to encourage a new generation of engineers by backing a national campaign to attract more young people to the industry.

Tomorrow’s Engineers Week (#TEWeek18) takes place from 5-9 November and aims to change perceptions of engineering among young people, their parents and teachers and to inspire future engineers.

Britain is great at engineering but with 1.8m engineers needed in the decade to 2022, the number of graduates and apprentices entering the industry needs to double.

Tomorrow’s Engineers Week is a chance for businesses to show how engineering is used in the real world and what an important role it plays.

So during #TEWeek18, share your engineering story using the hashtags #TEWeek18 and #EngineerOnAMission.

Explain how engineering plays a vital role in your business and how engineering skills solve every day issues.
