Success stories of inspirational women in businesses have been shared at a special event organised by the Marches Growth Hub Shropshire to mark International Women’s Day.
More than 50 women took part in the event at Shrewsbury Town Football Club on March 6 that featured talks and advice from a host of the county’s leading businesswomen as well as the chance to network.
The event was a joint initiative between the Growth Hub Shropshire and social media specialist Hollie Whittles. It is the second year it has taken place on the global celebration day.
Speakers included Shropshire experts Jess Baker, a business consultant and senior HR manager; Francesca Hutcheson, tax director at Dyke Yaxley; Ruth Shepherd, director of Results Communications and entrepreneur and educator Karyl Iles, the national vice-president of skincare and cosmetics company Arbonne International as well as Hollie.
Marches Growth Hub Shropshire manager Emma Chapman said: "We had a truly motivational morning hearing from a selection of women from a wide range of sectors who passed on some of their own experiences of being a woman in business and also offering expert tips and advice.
"Every day women are aspiring to succeed in business in Shropshire but International Women’s Day was an excellent platform on which to celebrate the achievements, discuss the challenges and learn lessons from this inspirational community."
