Businesses in Herefordshire are being urged to take up a funding scheme which could meet the cost of implementing sustainable travel options.
As more workers return to the daily commute following the relaxation of the work from home advice, Herefordshire Council’s TravelFund Grant will make up to £3,000 available to support sustainable access to work and help cut business mileage.
This year the scheme is looking to increase the number of walking and cycling journeys to work and increase the number of business journeys made by bike or on foot.
Marches Growth Hub Herefordshire manager Lyndsay Francis said the scheme could help businesses encourage sustainable travel options as people begin to return to the workplace following the pandemic.
“The TravelFund Grant can make up to 100 per cent of the cost of providing equipment that will help support increased active commuting.
“We are working hard to encourage all forms of sustainable travel, and I would urge all our companies to investigate how this scheme can help them reduce business mileage and create a sustainable future of Herefordshire.”
The grants are available on a first come, first served basis with companies being urged to apply as soon as possible for the two remaining rounds. The deadlines to apply are September 29 and October 27, 2021.
