Businesses across the Marches are being given the chance to play their part in helping deliver the Commonwealth Games later this year.
Growth hubs across the Midlands have organised a special ‘meet the buyer’ event on February 3 featuring five of the contractors appointed to deliver the Games.
They will each present further opportunities for local suppliers and SMEs and will talk one-to-one with businesses in a Virtual Meeting Room.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Growth Hubs cluster – which includes the Marches Growth Hub – said: “To maximise the chances of more regional businesses leaving their mark on Birmingham 2022, the Growth Hubs are hosting this large Meet the Buyer extravaganza and urging local firms to register for FREE.
“In the run up to the momentous Commonwealth Games in July 2022, there will still be plenty of local opportunities for the supply of materials, goods and services. From trades and construction, through to procurement connected to these awarded contracts, there is a golden opportunity for SMEs.”
Registration for event is now open with businesses getting the chance to meet:
GL Events – Official Overlay Supporter
Arena Events Group – Delivery of Venue Structures, Seating and Infrastructure
CSM Live – Wayfinding and Signage Provider
Birmingham Ceremonies Ltd – Opening and Closing Ceremonies
Outdoor Digital Production – Festival Live Sites
The keynote speaker will be David Grady, CFO at Birmingham 2022 Organising Committee.
The event is open to any business within the Marches Growth Hub area of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. For more details and to register visit https://www.marchesgrowthhub.co.uk/events/meet-the-contractors-delivering-birmingham-2022/
