There’s just a month left to get your entry in for the UK’s most prestigious business awards – the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
The Queen’s Awards are a seal of approval for the UK’s most outstanding businesses and there are four different categories to enter:
innovation
international trade
sustainable development
promoting opportunity through social mobility.
Winning a Queen’s Awards provides a major boost to staff morale and previous winners have reported increased commercial value, greater press coverage and achieved worldwide recognition for their brands or business.
To qualify your company needs to be based in the UK and file tax returns with HMRC. You need to have at least two full time employees or part time equivalents. Your business can be commercially orientated or not for profit but you do need to demonstrate a strong corporate social responsibility.
If you win, you’ll be invited to a Royal reception at Buckingham Palace, hosted by Her Majesty The Queen, and presented with your award at your company by one of The Queen’s representatives, a Lord-Lieutenant.
You can also fly The Queen’s Award flag at your main office, and use the emblem on your marketing materials (for example, on your packaging, advertisements, stationery and website).
Your business will also be given a Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal bowl. The awards are valid for 5 years.
Applications close on September 1 at midday, and the businesses that are shortlisted will be announced in October. The winners will be revealed in March 2018 winners announced.
