According to the Economist Intelligence Unit and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), COVID 19 has been effectively controlled in China, and production and operations are almost back to normal. EIU also forecasts China to be the only major economy that will grow in 2020. Electric vehicles, luxury cars and niche vehicles are all growing segments.

The production and sales of automobiles in April reached 2.1 million and 2.07million respectively. 46.6% and 43.5% increase month-on-month, 2.3% and 4.4% increase year-on-year – the first increase in month-on-month growth for 21-months.
