The barriers and successes to employing a local (Telford) diverse workforce
The Telford Business Board EDI subgroup welcome your thoughts, challenges and successes in employing a local diverse workforce

The newly established Telford Business Board EDI subgroup welcome your thoughts and successes in overcoming barriers to employing or retaining a local diverse workforce; whether this is in relation to age; disability; race; gender or other areas of diversity. We are keen to establish learning so as to find out the true barriers faced in the borough alongside learning from those who have overcome any real or perceived challenges.

To meet this aim we would value understanding any challenges faced or successes by local employers large and small around developing diverse workforces, by doing this we can seek to learn and support each other. This first meet up is planned to be a fact finding session so we can understand the challenges and opportunities locally; establish a set of aims and understand who we need on board the newly formed Telford Business Board EDI subgroup.

We would value attendance from those managing businesses or organisations who employ or seek to employ diverse workforces; along with recruitment, HR or EDI leads. Telford organisations large and small welcomed

This October event for employers large and small will be followed by a November workshop aimed at diverse communities in Telford to understand the barriers they face in gaining meaningful local employment or business start up support.

The Telford Business Board EDI group is Chaired by Ann Johnson of Wave-length CIC with Richard Nuttall of SYST as Vice Chair.
