Ross-on-Wye Business Summit

Ross-on-Wye Business Summit
Herefordshire’s Big County Plan and Future Vision

Through adversity comes change. Herefordshire businesses, like the rest of the world, have suffered significant hardship due to the COVID19 pandemic and recent climate change related events. Change is required to adapt and respond to these and other challenges.

Herefordshire Council recognises it has a supporting role to play in providing leadership, long-term strategy, and supporting infrastructure to facilitate the transformation required of the county’s economy. This includes building stronger, deeper relationships with businesses to ensure they get the right support to continue our economic recovery.

As part of this leadership role, the council will be developing a Big County Plan, covering the period to 2050, to set out Herefordshire’s future economic direction. Forging new partnerships with the business community will be key to the development of these plans being realistic and business focused, and we value the opportunity to begin this conversation.

Following a successful initial Business Summit event in Hereford in September, we are now holding a series of meetings with businesses across the county as a whole during October and November. We would like to invite you to attend an event on the 29th November 6.00 – 7.00 p.m at a venue TBC ,Ross on Wye. This will be an opportunity to hear from, and meet, Cllr David Hitchiner (Leader of the council), Cllr Ellie Chowns (Cabinet Member for Environment and Economy), and Paul Walker (Chief Executive).

The agenda will cover • Herefordshire’s Big County Plan and future vision – how can we think big to drive change and meet opportunities • Building new relationships with businesses to deliver growth and opportunity • The role of government and its supporting policies • Discussion on issues and opportunities.

Signing up will provide access to all details for the agenda, timings, and directions to the venue.

This event will be the part of the wider engagement of businesses by the council and we look forward to starting an ongoing conversation with you all.
