The region’s most inspirational businesses are being urged to shout about their success in the Best of Britain awards.
Nominations will shortly close for the annual awards which seek to highlight the businesses who are trying to make a difference to their customers, their community and the planet.
The awards – now in their sixth year – celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of Great Britain and recognise small businesses across the UK for their sustainable, digital and charitable ingenuity.
There are five regional categories with the winners chosen by a panel of business experts. The regional winners will then be pitted against each other in a public vote on the award organiser’s Facebook page for the top prize of a year’s free electricity.
Regional winners each win £200 in the awards, entries for which close on October 4.
An awards spokesman said: "If you’ve started doing things differently in the last 18 months we want to know how your idea is being implemented, what went/is going well, how it’s making an impact and what you have learned."
To enter, companies must have fewer than 50 employees.
Regional winners will be announced on October 11 with the public vote for the overall champion running until October 18. There will be a special round-table event for all the winners on November 13.
