High-tech companies from across the Marches are being urged to apply for a place on a special scheme to help them grow their market in China.
The Global Business Innovation Programme is offering companies the chance to be part of a new project next year called China 2022 – Audience of the Future.
Audience of the Future is a programme funded under Wave 2 of the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, with the China programme being particularly targeted at businesses in:
• AR/VR/MR/XR
• Haptics, sonics and other sensory interfaces
• Advanced visualisations and display technologies
• AI & 5G
• Real time and associated production technologies
The programme is designed to help small and medium sized businesses maximise the opportunities identified, including developing innovation projects with partners in China and the wider region.
It consists of a preparation phase, including a getting-ready-for-market workshop, a range of targeted innovation activities focussed on China, post-activity workshop and support for around 12 months from an Innovate UK EDGE Innovation and Growth Specialist.
The Global Business Innovation Programme brings together cohorts of up to 15 innovative UK businesses looking to grow and scale globally. Each focuses on a specific country and technology or sector area and enables the businesses to build collaborations and partnerships and explore innovation opportunities.
Businesses must be UK based and looking to expand internationally, have fewer than 500 employees and be able to attend all the activities of the programme.
The programme will be delivered virtually with a £500 commitment fee on acceptance to the full initiative.
