The Department for International Trade (DIT) is organising a two-day UK-India Virtual EdTech Mission on September 30th and October 1st 2020.
The Education sector in India provides huge growth opportunities for global companies. The industry has grown at a CAGR of 35% in the last 5 years. EdTech has grown exponentially in India and, given the current global situation with the Covid-19 pandemic, is surpassing forecasts and becoming increasingly important in global education provision. India is the second largest market for e-learning and has the second highest number of EdTech companies in the world (327 companies). The UK ranks 4th globally and, with 245 companies operating in the EdTech sector, is forecasted to reach £3.4bn by 2021.
Recognising the synergies that the UK and India share in EdTech, the Department for International Trade is organising a virtual trade mission to India, aimed at scoping market opportunities in emerging regions, and exploring opportunities for collaboration within the UK and Indian EdTech markets. The Indian delegation will include: tech companies providing solutions to the education sector, distributors/resellers, EdTech consultants and representation from EdTech industry associations. This mission’s programme will include presentations from Indian and UK EdTech experts on growth opportunities in the regions, representation from government on education policy and guidelines and pitching sessions for UK and Indian companies.
