Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Rural Funding Workshop

This workshop will provide advice and guidance to those businesses wishing to bid for funding under Round 3 of the RDPE Programme. The event is aimed at businesses and organisations based in the Marches (Shropshire/Telford & Wrekin/Hereford ) who would like to apply to DEFRA's Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Growth Programme.

The programme provides grants for rural business development, food processing businesses and those involved in rural tourism infrastructure.

Grants, funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), start at a minimum of £20,000 and applicants can apply for up to 40 per cent of eligible costs.

The maximum grant for business development and tourism projects will be limited to £175,000, whilst the maximum grant for food processing projects will be limited to £750,000.

There is a 2-part application process (starting with submitting an 'expression of interest') to tell RPA about the work you're doing and how the grant could help you with it - Deadline 16th February, 2020.

If RPA assesses that your expression of interest is suitable, they will invite you to submit a full application - Deadline for funding bids 31st, May, 2020.

Am I eligible?

If you are a business based in the Marches area (Shropshire/Telford & Wrekin/Hereford ) you may be eligible to apply, please check the eligibility criteria for each priority.

  • Food Processing Priority - can support businesses of any size in rural or urban areas across the Marches and has a maximum grant of £750k
  • Business Development/Tourism Priority - if you are a micro (0-9) or small (10-50) business, located within the rural Marches you may be eligible to apply - maximum grant £175,000
  • MINIMUM grant available: £20,000 (40% intervention rate) (e.g. £20,000 grant would require 60% cash match = £30,000 = Total Project £50,000)
