20th June, 2019   9:30am to 12:30pm

Small charities are usually set up in response to a social need or by founders with a passion to create change or deliver on a mission – rarely are they set up with effective financial management in mind! But as a charity grows good financial management is crucial. In this half-day workshop we will be examining the key elements of effective financial management, offering practical advise on how to ensure that the right questions are asked, creating a better informed decision making process. The workshop will be focussed on small charities (annual income of less than £1million) and will be run as part of the Foundation for Social Improvement’s Small Charity Week.

This workshop will support you in:

  • gaining an understanding of the requirements for effective financial management

  • maximising income and controlling expenditure

  • reflecting on how your charity can improve its financial management

  • networking with other small charities and celebrate their achievements locally

This workshop will be deliverd by Clair Moelwyn-Williams, a Partner at TCA Accountants based in Shrewsbury, who is a Chartered Accountant who specialises in advising small charities, as well as being an experienced presenter of charity training.
