Mobility issues under the spotlight at Hereford workshop

The Hub News Team | 31.7.19

A special workshop to discuss some of the key mobility issues facing rural communities is being held in Hereford - and the organisers want a wide range of groups to get involved.

The University of Lincoln is staging the free event to explore how emerging developments in rural mobility and digital technology can be used to improve the lives of people and businesses.

The workshop is part of a research project being conducted on behalf of Midlands Connect - the strategic regional transport partnership.

It will examine some of the key mobility challenges facing rural areas, including access to services, employment, education and access to health and care services.

Organisers said: "The workshop will focus on the current mobility needs of rural communities and businesses, and provide the opportunity to discuss the potential role of innovative mobility solutions.

"We are keen to gather a wide variety of perspectives, and would really welcome attendance from a range of stakeholders involved in local community activities, education, healthcare and businesses operating in rural areas.

"Please join us for this workshop which we hope will be a valuable opportunity for networking and future thinking about rural mobility."

The event is being held at Hereford Town Hall in St Owens Street on August 13, getting under way at 9.30am and finishing by 1pm.
