Solar panelsThe benefits of sustainable and renewable energy systems will be showcased at a special event in Herefordshire next month.

The Sustainability Forum is staging a breakfast event at the home of Caplor Energy in Fownhope on October 24 - and is urging businesses interested in finding out about how to cut their energy bills to attend.

The event, which kicks off at 8am, will include a tour of Caplor's base and presentations from experts from the Business Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP) and the Marches Renewable Energy Project.

A spokesman for the event organisers said: "With rising energy costs and generous grants available for business to invest in renewable energy systems, now is a good time to consider if technologies such as solar PV, battery storage, solar thermal, biomass and electric vehicles could work for your business.

"Caplor are a third generation family business based in Herefordshire who have embraced almost the full suite of renewable energy systems available.

"Come and see these systems in operation and hear from Caplor about the day-to-day practical and business implications of low carbon energy generation including the most recent installation of a battery array and electric vehicle charger to maximise their use of home grown green energy, supported by a 40% BEEP grant."

Caplor managing director Gareth Williams will be on hand to show visitors around and guests will then hear from BEEP and the Marches Renewable Energy Project about how they can access money available to support energy and resource efficiency projects.

The Sustainability Forum is a series of free events aimed at helping businesses draw upon good practice from industry experts and local businesses to help promote sustainable business practices, particularly focusing on resource efficiency.
