Identifying and growing the leaders of the future is vital for any business that wants to build a sustainable foundation, but finding the time and money to fund this can be hard.
The Future Leaders Fellowship is a scheme that aims to tackle those barriers and can provide funding of up to £1.2m to make it happen.
The grant can be used to support a highly talented individual, who is in the earlier stages of their career, to develop their leadership potential by undertaking challenging innovation or research projects that will benefit a business.
The funding is available to host a fellowship over four years to businesses in any sector and of any size. The scope of the grant is extensive but could include a number of projects including exploring market opportunities or developing new processes or products to deliver innovation and success to a business.
It covers the salaries of the fellow and their immediate team, as well as materials, capital equipment, facilities, travel and subsistence, training and development, and overheads related to the project.
The scheme is highly flexible too – it can be used to work in partnership with other businesses, universities, research organisations or policy makers. It could also develop the skills of a wider team working on the innovation project, leading to more benefits across your business.
It is a competitive process to secure a grant but support including bid writing assistance is available to companies that register an interest. Round 5 of applications will open on March 26 and closes on June 2.
