If you’re a business in The Marches that wants to improve skills among your workforce, look no further!
The Employees Support in Skills project, which is being funded by the European Social Fund, can help you access free training if you’re based in Herefordshire or Shropshire.
Led by Riverside Training and supported by The Marches LEP, free training is available for a range of needs including apprenticeships at all levels; support to improve English, maths and IT skills; support for learners with disabilities and the development of leadership and management skills.
It will cover several key areas for training:
* Skills Support for the Workforce to provide people with the skills to progress at work and help employers take on and develop individuals to fill intermediate, technical and higher level skills gaps and shortages.
* Apprenticeship Services to increase the apprenticeship opportunities for people of all levels and ages and, in particular, in the LEP’s key growth sectors of advanced engineering and manufacturing, agriculture, food and drink, defence and securities, environmental technologies, visitor economy and sectors of high employment including health and social care, construction and retail.
* Skills Support for Redundancy to support businesses undergoing industrial restructuring by providing skills and employability support for their employees at risk of redundancy. This training will also support the newly unemployed as well as the retention and retraining of skilled workers.
The Employees Support in Skills project is particularly targeting older workers, lone parents, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities and other disadvantaged groups in the Marches area.
