Free cyber security workshops for Herefordshire SMEs

The Hub News Team | 26.4.20

bigstock_Internet_Security_Firewall_Or_326464240A series of free workshops to help small and medium sized businesses in Herefordshire improve their cyber security responses will launch in May.

The courses, that will be delivered online, are being run by The University of Wolverhampton. They are among the first tranche of activities organised to take place ahead of the opening of the Cyber Quarter - Midlands Centre for Cyber Security at Skylon Park, Hereford Enterprise Zone later this year.

The courses, partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund, have been designed for senior decision makers or a senior management team member with responsibility for IT at a Herefordshire based SME.

They will help SMEs address and prepare for the challenges of operating competitively in an ever increasing world of technological challenges.

Topics to be covered include:

• Managing a potential cyber incident and the mechanisms required to respond effectively

• Build a resilient cyber strategy for your business

• Understand the evolving potential threats to business continuity

• Understand a business's legal obligations for protection of information and communication internally and externally

• Comprehend the potential weakest links within an organisation and build an increasing understanding of how businesses need to operate in this ever changing sector.

The half day workshops will be delivered online on May 12, May 19, June 9 and June 23 from 8.45am to 1.30pm.
