Hereford-Seen-From-The-SouthNew moves are under way to raise the profile of tourism in Herefordshire – and businesses are being urged to get involved and have their say.

Businesses are being asked about their priorities and the best way forward for a well-funded and sustainable county tourism body through an online survey and series of public meetings.

The Herefordshire Sustainable Food and Tourism Partnership (HSFTP) has appointed The Mosaic Partnership to investigate the possibility of creating a Herefordshire Destination Business Improvement District (BID).

This would be a new strategic and forward-thinking business-led body with the potential to generate over £500,000 a year to deliver the destination management of the whole county.

Now businesses with an interest in the tourism sector are being urged to get involved to make sure their views are heard and that the county fulfils its tourism potential.

If you’re a business involved in providing accommodation, attractions, retail, food and drink, or use the Herefordshire brand to promote your activity, you are being urged to complete an online survey.

Open meetings are also being arranged to take place across the county and include:

2pm on Thursday 27th June at the Council Chamber, 11 Corn Square, Leominster.

6pm on Monday 1st July at the Royal Hotel, Ross-on-Wye.

2pm on Thursday 4th July at the Town Hall, St Owen Street, Hereford.
