Business leaders across Telford and Wrekin are being urged to help tackle some of the key skills issues facing the county's employers at a special round-table event later this month.

Telford Business Board says the meeting will pull together business representatives from across the county to discuss how to shape the future of training in the region.

The October 25 breakfast meeting - which is being staged in partnership with the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership - will give you the opportunity to share your thoughts about the real challenges that your business, your customers, and your sector is facing in regards to skills and employment, as well as to collaborate with your business neighbours.

Paul Hinkins, chair of the Telford Business Board, said the meeting would help put businesses in the driving seat when it comes to developing future training and make sure their voices were heard over a vital issue.

"The Round Table is set to be lively, engaging and collaborative, so please do book your space to ensure that your business's needs are shared. Plus, we'll be discussing the potential barriers facing businesses in terms of skills and training, and what solutions there are to overcome these - so it's an opportunity not to be missed.

"It's hugely important that we, as employers, educators, and training providers, come together to tackle the issues around skills, and work towards positive next steps for effectively attracting and retaining talent in the region, something which is imperative for the future of our business community as we continue to thrive and prosper."
