Talk to most small business bosses for any length of time and the subject of leadership is sure to rear its head.
All too often, they will tell you, the biggest challenges lie not in making a product or delivering a service, but in managing people in the workplace.
Now, a nine-month course run by business experts will help pass on some of the secrets of management and leadership in an attempt to raise productivity at small businesses across the region.
The Productivity through People course, run through Aston Business School in Birmingham, provides access to the latest management practices, thinking and research to drive productivity in SMEs.
It aims to bridge the gap between leaders and staff by helping develop new leadership styles which allow your workforce to improve efficiency and competitiveness by directly solving business and customer problems.
The programme - which runs from this November to July 2019 - is targeted at individual owners or small teams of senior leaders, sharing critical insights for success through effective leadership, communication, innovation and people management.
The programme has been co-produced by Be the Business -an industry-led alliance of trade bodies- world-class industry leaders BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and Siemens and leading UK business schools at Aston, Bath, Lancaster and Strathclyde Universities, with support from Local Enterprise Partnerships.
It features hands-on case studies and masterclasses, and provides a peer-group network so you can benchmark against best in class. Organisers say the sessions will will help turn your business into a high performance workplace.
Cost per delegate is £2,500 and places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
