Automotive businesses from across the Marches are being urged to join a special trade visit to India to help boost their overseas trade.
The Midlands Engine is staging the trip in January and wants companies from across the region to get involved.
The Indian trip will focus on the new and developing automotive technology sector and visit both Pune and Chennai between January 27 and 31.
The visit is designed specifically for companies operating in the future mobility sector including Electric Vehicle Technology and Infrastructure as well as Electric Motor manufacturing, Battery Management Technologies and Specialist Vehicle manufacturing.
New research suggests India’s auto industry has the potential to generate up to $300 billion in annual revenue by 2026, creating 65 million additional jobs and contributing over 12 per cent to India’s Gross Domestic Product.
Pete West, International Trade Adviser at the Department for International Trade said: "If an Automotive company is interested in the Indian market, particularly in the Future Mobility sectors then this visit is ideal for them. I would encourage companies to approach us, since the programme can be tailored to individual requirements.
"Our experience of previous missions has shown that companies of a suitable calibre have typically won business as a direct result of their participation."
The trip will include pre-arranged introductory events, networking and company visits and a commitment fee of £150+VAT is needed to secure a space.
Delegates will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation and subsistence but recommendations will be given. Financial support of £690 is available for those companies in the Midlands Engine area who meet the required eligibility criteria.
