Industrial companies from across the Marches are being urged to apply to a £30million fund to help them improve their energy efficiency.

Innovate UKPhase 1 of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) – which offers grants starting from £250,000 – opens on 20 July 2020 and businesses are being urged to apply.

The scheme will provide funding for:

  • projects deploying technologies that improve energy efficiency, specifically of industrial processes

  • feasibility and engineering studies of energy efficiency and deep decarbonisation projects

The programme is open to organisations within the manufacturing SIC codes 10-33 as well as data centres.

A spokesman for the scheme said the minimum grant companies could receive for energy efficiency deployment projects would be £250,000.

"The total eligible costs for engineering studies must be at least £100,000 and the total eligible costs for feasibility studies must be at least £60,000."

The fund is being managed by Innovate UK with up to £30 million of funding available.
