More people than ever are attending the business advice and support workshops being staged by the Marches Growth Hub.
The sessions – staged through our bases in Hereford, Shrewsbury and Telford – are regularly attracting packed audiences as experts offer up help and advice on every aspect of running and growing a business.
If you’ve been to one of our seminars, workshops or advice sessions, you will know what value they bring and how useful they are in both developing your own skills and making new contacts.
Attendees regularly tell us how fired up they’ve been by a session and how they are going to put some of their new knowledge to work in their own business.
But where to start?
Marches Growth Hub Shropshire manager Emma Chapman has this brilliant advice:
"It’s really useful to boil down the advice into actions which are both realistic and attainable. This gives you the motivation to get on and make things happen and also means you are not overwhelmed with too much to do.
So I recommend coming away from any of our sessions with the following challenge:
Identify two things you are already doing in your business that you will continue to do.
Identify two things you are already doing in your business that you will now stop doing.
Identify two things you are not yet doing in your business but will now introduce.
And remember, whatever you decide to do make sure you communicate it to your staff. That way everyone can buy into it and be just as committed to the plan as you are.
Often it’s the little things, added together, that make the big difference. Just because you start small doesn’t mean you can’t think big."
