Telford and Wrekin Care Leavers Covenant Business Event 2022

Telford and Wrekin Care Leavers Covenant Business Event 2022

In collaboration with the Department of Work and Pensions, Telford and Wrekin Council aims to bring the wider business community and organisations together to offer their support, services and opportunities to young people as they leave the care of the local authority, through the Care Leavers Covenant Business Event on 11th February 2022.

Children are taken into care for a number of reasons, all of which present significant challenges for our young people as they leave local authority care. Signatories to the Care Leaver Covenant will become part of the wider family for our care leavers who, unlike many children, don’t benefit from the support network provided by an extended family. We are sure you will agree that participation in this initiative is a very positive way for your organisation to continue to build the strong culture of business contribution within our local area.

Please come along, to hear how you can contribute and make a positive difference to the experiences and prospects of our young people leaving care, through the Care Leaver Covenant. By making a pledge and developing an offer, you will be recognised as an official Care Leaver Covenant Signatory! You will receive a nationally recognised kitemark to display on your website and a customised certificate bearing your organisation name/logo and the Department for Education with signature from the Minister for Children and Families.
